A B O U T
Caleb Yang is a cellist based in Nashville. As a soloist, he has performed Bloch’s “Schelomo” under the baton of Neal Stulberg. As an improvising musician, Caleb blends various genres with live looping electronics for unique solo performances. As a commercial musician, Caleb has toured with country music singer Martina McBride, performed live with artists including Danielle Bradbery, David Cook and Emily Weisband, and has recorded as a session musician for Postmodern Jukebox, Benjamin William Hastings, Anna Golden and many others.
Caleb holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Cello Performance at UCLA and a Master of Music in Commercial Music at Belmont University. His master's thesis on live looping for string players explores ways to promote improvisation, encourage participation in groove-based musical genres, and amplify one’s musical voice. Caleb also serves as the string orchestra teacher at F. H. Jenkins Preparatory School, an ESA-approved K-8 institution in Nashville.
